Summer Bookish

I'm reading these because imagination is a lost art.
I'm reading this one to make others feel uncomfortable.
I'm reading this one to make others feel really uncomfortable. Although once the initial shock passes, this is a fantastic book. I've already drafted a blog post with some thoughts as it is refreshingly challenging.
I'm stuck on a crossword puzzle in this one.

"The Antigambler." A self-portrait.

I've often considered myself the "anti-gambler", holding my cards close, playing only if there's surety in winning. Adventure is one of my loves, but only when it comes to not risking personally. New food, spontaneity, traveling to new places, these are all tantalizing to me...but loving the hard-hearted, asking difficult, uncomfortable questions, sacrificing what I hold dear–I'd receive an A+ for "shirking."

Kenny Rodger's song, "The Gambler" seems to exemplify my struggles:
You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away, know when to run
You can't count your money when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time for counting cards when the game is done

August 3
This was the photo I intended to take August 3rd. The title for this one is "Chipped". My feet are probably my least favorite in terms of bodily aesthetics...yet are very much a part of who I am. Someday, someone will love me despite my hairy, Montana, "potato-pickin'-toes".

August 4
Detail from the center-pull skein of yarn I wound today. I'll be making a baby touqe for some expecting friends.

Sickie

Sorry for no August 3rd photo. I was down for most of the day feeling ill. I'll make up with two photos today, as I am feeling much, much better!
